August:

8/28: Be Well to Do Well (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in UC East): Stop by the table in UC East to learn about the Be Well to Do Well Campaign, and pick up some free BW2DW goodies! 

8/30: STARs call-out meeting (5:30-6:30 p.m. in UC 2217): Are you interested in the health and wellness of other students? STARs are peer educators who educate other students about positive mental and physical wellness. Come to the call-out meeting to learn more about this leadership opportunity, and details on how to apply. 

September:

9/13: Self-defense class (5-7 p.m. in RFWC 115 - RSVP REQUIRED!) - Learn basic self-defense skills including punches, kicks, and pressure points. This class is taught by Princeton Police Self-Defense. E-mail cchampagne@usi.edu to sign up. 

9/17: HIV Testing (11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in UC 2217). Take charge of your health and #KnowYourStatus! HIV Testing is offered in partnership with AIDS Resource Group Evansville. Testing is free and confidential, and results are ready immediately. 

9/18: Be Informed (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in UC West): Stop by the table in UC West to learn about the many resources on campus designed to support and enhance your personal wellness! Plus, pick up some free BW2DW goodies! 

9/26: USI Wellness Fair (8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Carter Hall): Stop by the annual wellness fair for lots of free giveaways and resources from campus and community resources. There will also be health screenings, flu shots, and opportunities to win prizes. Learn more about the Wellness Fair here

October:

10/11: Flowers on the Lake (4 p.m. Meet outside of the LA Building). October is national domestic violence awareness month. Flowers on the Lake is an annual ceremony to honor those who have lost their lives to domestic violence, and raise awareness about the warning signs of relationship abuse. Co-sponsored by the USI Sexual Assault & Gender Violence Prevention Group. 

10/15: HIV Testing (11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in UC 2217) Take charge of your health and #KnowYourStatus! HIV Testing is offered in partnership with AIDS Resource Group Evansville. Testing is free and confidential, and results are ready immediately.

10/16: Be Smart (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in UC East): Stop by the table in UC East to test your knowledge about responsible alcohol use, and how you can stay safe if you choose to drink. 

10/17: Cultivating Self-Compassion (12-1 p.m. in HP 1082). This workshop will introduce you to the elements of self-compassion and mindfulness. The practice of self-compassion promotes positive mental health and can build resilience. Feel free to bring your lunch! Attendees will receive free wellness giveaways (while supplies last). 

10/22: The Hunting Ground: Film Screening & Panel Discussion (7 p.m. in Carter Hall). Join the USI Sexual Assault & Gender Violence Prevention Group for a screening of "The Hunting Ground", an award-winning documentary about sexual assault on college campuses. A panel discussion with USI administrators will follow.

11/13: Be Rested (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in UC East): Stop by the table in UC East to learn about healthy sleep strategies, and pick up a free sleep mask to improve your snooze.
