Certificate in Business Writing

Writing is a primary method of communication and the more effectively you write the greater impact your messages will have. The Certificate in Business Writing course will equip participants with the knowledge and skills essential to create clear, concise and professional business documents.

Upon successful completion of this 12-hour course, participants will be able to:

  • Collect information needed to advance goals
  • Overcome writer’s block
  • Choose the correct format based on topic and audience
  • Structure information using the inverted pyramid model
  • Use heading, topic sentences and transitional devices more effectively

  • Follow grammar and stylistic rules for improved clarity
  • Learn standards for courtesy titles and unbiased language
  • Proofread effectively
  • Improve the visual appeal of documents
