As a parent or family member, you play a vital role in your student's transition to college life. We encourage parents and family members to participate in Parent and Family Orientation. You will learn about the University and its many resources and become a partner with the University in supporting your student's success in transitioning to college.
Due to concerns for the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff and community, USI will provide Parent and Family Orientation in a remote setting for Spring 2021. We have several options for you to learn more about the University.
New Student Online Orientation
We encourage parent and family members to go through this online orientation. You don't need to enter in any information. You will simply enter as a guest. To review all of the material it will take you 2-3 hours to complete. You can jump to those areas you want to learn about or go back in several times. Online Orientation works best using the Google Chrome browser.
Screaming Eagles Parent and Family Orientation
We will be offering a separate Virtual Parent and Family Orientation session at the same time students will participate in a Screaming Eagles Orientation. We will use the Zoom platform for this session. This session will focus on meeting staff and faculty and answering your parent and family members questions. When students are completing their reservation form, they will be able to sign up parents and family members for their virtual orientation program. If they already completed their reservation form, they can add you by going back to the form and making edits.
The Zoom links for these programs will be sent in your confirmation when your reservation is complete.
