You can find your USI student ID by following these steps:
1. Log into myUSI.
2. Click on DegreeWorks (it's the graduation cap!)
Your student ID number is in the top left corner and will start with 000.
To get your myUSI username and password, use the Activate Account tab at my.USI.edu to create your USI password and get your username. There are also tabs for Forgot Username and Forgot Password. If you need further assistance, contact the IT Help Desk at (812) 465-1080.

The Center for Adult Learner Success exists to serve as an advocate for adult learners interested in pursuing higher education with the University of Southern Indiana. The Center collaborates with academic colleges and campus support services to act as a primary University contact point for potential and current adult students.
You can change your address, email, phone numbers, or emergency contacts all through myUSI. Follow these steps:
1. Go to my.USI.edu
2. Log in with your myUSI username and password.
3. Click on the Self-Service icon (it looks like blue folders!) under Eagle Apps.
4. Click on Personal Information.
5. Select the item you would like to update.

Admitted Student Task List
Students will receive an email when it is available. If a student has received the email and still can't see the icon, contact New Student and Transitional Programs at (812) 465-7167 or firstname.lastname@example.org so we can assist.
You will take your picture at Screaming Eagles Orientation and will be able to pick it up at the end of the day. If you are an upper-level transfer or adult student and won't be attending Screaming Eagles Orientation, you may get your student ID at the Eagle Access Card office during their office hours.
Advising and Registration
For semester classes:
When you meet with an advisor, they will provide a list of classes that you should enroll in for the upcoming semester. They will also show you how to utilize Schedule Planner, our online class scheduling program. Once you have received a list of classes to enroll in, you will utilize Schedule Planner to register for those classes.
For summer classes:
When you meet with your advisor and express interest in taking summer classes, your advisor will provide you with the courses you should take in the summer. Your advisor will show you how to utilize schedule planner to register for those summer classes. If you need to sign up for summer classes prior to attending orientation, you will want to contact the advising center for your college. They can assist you with determining appropriate summer courses for your degree program.
If you want to research what courses are offered at USI, you can visit the USI bulletin online. If you are interested in what specific courses are offered for a particular semester, you will want to go to the Class Schedule.
New Student and Transitional Programs will schedule your advising appointment for you if you are attending on-campus orientation.

We ask that you complete any placement testing that may be required before attending your advising appointment/orientation day.
Additionally, if possible, send USI any official transcripts and any AP/IB/dual credit if applicable. Advisors do understand that many of these scores are not released until later in the summer. If you are unable to send these scores prior to your registration day, your advisor will work with you to ensure that once those scores are received, you will be placed in the correct classes.
You do not have to complete placement testing prior to making an orientation reservation, but we do ask that you complete it prior to attending orientation if possible. If this is not possible, you will have an opportunity to complete placement testing at orientation.
To complete placement testing:
For foreign language placement tests, the student will work with their academic advisor to best determining what language to take. Changes to level of course can be made once classes begin as well.
If a student is interested in trying out for the USI Chamber Choir, USI Women's Choir, or the USI Jazz Band, they should contact Dan Craig (email@example.com) for more information.
When you complete your orientation reservation, you will be asked to verify your major. If your major is not correct, please change it on your orientation reservation form. We will send your new intended major to the Registrar's Office to update.
If you need to change your major after orientation, you should contact the Registrar's Office at (812) 464-1762.
Registration holds prevent you from registering for courses. There are many reasons why a hold may be placed. Click here to learn more about registration holds. All holds must be resolved before you will be allowed to register for classes. You will register for classes at orientation and must resolve any holds prior to then. Note that a very common hold is an Orientation Hold. These holds will be removed the morning of your orientation after check-in.

4. Click on Student, then Student Records, and View Holds.

Screaming Eagles Orientation
All new students to USI must complete orientation. There are three parts to New Student Orientation.
FRESHMEN and TRANSFER STUDENTS WITH LESS THAN 60 HOURS will complete orientation in three parts. These include Parts A, B, and C.
TRANSFER STUDENTS WITH MORE THAN 59 HOURS or STUDENTS WHO ARE 25 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER or STUDENTS THAT WILL TAKE ALL COURSEWORK ONLINE will complete orientation in two parts. These include Parts A and C. Part B is optional.
Part A: Complete New Student Online Orientation
Online Orientation will provide you and your family with information about advising, academic requirements, financial aid and billing, campus services and resources, and answer many other questions you might have about attending USI. You will complete this orientation at your own pace. It will take you 2-3 hours to complete. You don't need to do it in one sitting, but you will need to log in with the same information for the system to remember where you left off. The online orientation is a combination of videos and text and works best using the Google Chrome browser.
This will be available soon for students starting in the Spring Semester. For students starting in Fall 2023, this will be available beginning March 2023.
Part B: Participate in Screaming Eagles Orientation Reservation
Students will participate in an on-campus Screaming Eagles Orientation. At orientation, students and their guests will learn more about process and resources at USI; meet faculty, staff and students; take care of any business needed and have lunch (provided). Students will also meet with an advisor and register for their first semester of courses. Students may bring up to 2 guests. Students should plan to be on-campus from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (central time) on their orientation date.
Part C: Advising and Registration Appointment
All students will have an advising and registration appointment. Students attending Screaming Eagles Orientation will be assigned an appointment for that day. Transfer students with 12 or more credit hours and adult students may schedule an advising and registration appointment after completing New Student Online Orientation. Transfer students with 12 to 59 credit hours are still expected to participate in the on-campus Screaming Eagles Orientation session in the summer.
Students Exempt from Orientation:
- Students who have already earned a bachelor's degree or higher
- Students who are full-time employees of the University of Southern Indiana
To register for Screaming Eagles Orientation, follow these steps:
Yes, many parents do attend orientation on the same day as their student but participate in a separate Parent and Family Orientation. Parents are encouraged to attend the Parent and Family Orientation so they also learn about the resources offered on campus and how best to assist their student. The student and parent will be separate for the majority of the day. If you would like to attend, your student can register you when they register for orientation. If they have already registered, they can add you by going back into myUSI and clicking on the Admitted Student Task List icon and then the Orientation Reservation task.
All new students to the University are charged a matriculation fee on their first semester bill. This non-refundable fee covers the orientation program. There is no fee for two guests who attend Screaming Eagles Orientation. We do ask that you only register those whom you know will be attending.
If you need to make changes to your orientation reservation (i.e. date, guests, orientation housing), go to my.USI.edu, log in with your myUSI username and password and click on the Admitted Student Task List icon under Eagle Apps and then the Orientation Reservation Task. This will bring up your current reservation. Click on the section where you need to make changes and make the changes. Make sure to go to my Reservation and click submit.
You will receive a confirmation within minutes of submitting your orientation reservation. Confirmations are emailed to your myUSI email account. If you do not receive it, contact New Student and Transitional Programs at firstname.lastname@example.org or (812) 465-7167.

- Overnight accomodation items if necessary (Note that if you are staying on campus, extra items such as linens will be necessary).

- Immunization form or financial aid paperwork that you need to submit
- Copies of college transcripts showing coursework completed or enrolled in (make sure you have your official transcripts sent to USI)
The University Campus Store will be open during orientation. You will be able to buy textbooks if they are available. Fall textbooks are available for purchase online or in the store on August 1. Spring textbooks are available for purchase online or in the store on December 1. USI has adopted Archie's Book Bundle rental program to provide savings for students. View more information here.
