Mission The Thirst Project @ USI, as a branch of the Thirst Project, exists to raise awareness and bring solutions to the global water crisis by empowering individuals to take action and create radical change in others' lives.

Why Thirst Project @ USI matters The Thirst Project @ USI has impacted the community by empowering students and youth to use their voices and leadership skills to bring awareness to the global water crisis. Our organization also raises money to build wells providing clean water to communities in need. We strive to bring people of different backgrounds and skills together for one common goal: to help others.

As a group, we have learned how overwhelmingly huge the global water crisis is, but through this, we have developed the skills necessary to implement real world solutions. Perhaps most importantly, we have learned that dedication, hard work and patience are needed to bring about real change. The valuable lessons we have learned from being part of this organization can be applied to nearly every other area of life and have empowered us to become activists in the community.

Organization events For the past couple of years, the organization has hosted several smaller events, such as making hundreds of origami ornaments to sell to fund the building of a well for a community in need. This year, we hope to expand the impact of our organization by increasing membership numbers and hosting larger, University-wide events. Officers and members are discussing various ideas and options.

How can USI employees support Thirst Project @ USI Employees can get involved by contacting Danielle Lubbe at delubbe@eagles.usi.edu with ideas or simply by attending events to show support.
