Mary Wilkinson, president of Opus Design Group

Mary Wilkinson is president of Opus Design Group, a marketing, advertising and communications firm located in the Indianapolis area. Mary began her career in a traditional advertising agency setting, serving positions such as art director, creative director and Vice President of creative before starting her own firm.

During her professional development, she obtained additional education in marketing in order to better evaluate her clients’ needs. As digital media came to the forefront, Mary implemented social media programs for her clients who were non-traditional users of the media.

Currently, her primary roles are as Director of Marketing for three organizations: the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy, the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy, and the Science of Running Medicine. Part of her responsibilities focuses on the implementation of social media in service of the associations, especially for the post-millennial, millennial and Gen-X demographics.

A talented designer and writer as well as marketing and media specialist, Mary is a multiple Addy Award winner in local, regional and national competitions. Recent projects have included social media promotion for the biennial World Congress of Sports Physical Therapy in Vancouver, BC, the annual Team Concept Conference in Las Vegas, and the Sports Academy’s contributions to the APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting in Denver, which welcomed over 19,000 attendees. Planning has begun for the Fourth World Congress of Sports Physical Therapy in Copenhagen, Denmark in August 2021
