Alternative work arrangements extended through start of Winter Recess

September 11, 2020

Every step of the way since March, safety has guided our decision making. Since the start of the Fall Semester on August 24, our campus community has been in an alternative work schedule mode to reduce the density of the on-campus employee population. This measured, staged approach continues to serve us well.

Today I am announcing the work arrangement established August 24 will continue through to University closure for Winter Recess (Wednesday, December 23).

Assessment of the environment and data is ongoing; before Winter Recess, we will provide an update on next steps for the Spring Semester. Until then, please maintain flexibility and patience. Most importantly, continue to serve our students, as I know you do every day.

I am proud of the collective effort we have made the first few weeks of the semester to care for one another, but we still have a long way to go. Flu season approaches and healthcare providers are strongly encouraging all of us to receive the flu vaccination. As the weather turns colder and we spend more time indoors with one another, this intentional effort to keep our campus running smoothly and mitigate risk is something we must continue to do.

Thank you for your continuing efforts to keep our campus community safe. And thank you for going above and beyond to make us the campus of choice for our current students and those yet to come.

Peace and blessings,
