USI Internship and Career Fair Information for Students

Students and employer at the CareerLINK job fair

Students will need to register through Career Launch.  Registration usually opens 6 weeks before the career fair.

The USI Internship and Career Fair is held in both September and February each year.  Students from all majors except nursing and education are invited to this fair.

Upcoming Career Fair Dates:
September 22, 2021
February 16, 2022

  • Students should dress professionally in slacks/skirt and a nice shirt or business suit. First impressions matter.
  • Plan early to ask off work for the day and check your class schedule. Talk to your professors, many will allow an excused absence to attend the career and internship fair.
  • We strongly recommend having your resume reviewed before the fair by our career coordinators. They have appointments available all semester leading up to the fair. Don't wait until the last minute as slots will fill up quickly. Contact Career Services and Internships to schedule an appointment at 812-464-1865 or view availability and schedule on Career Launch.

  Reasons To Attend CareerLINK

  1. Potential career opportunities - Employers come to CareerLINK specifically to recruit USI students for jobs and Internships. They will have information about their current openings, which should also be listed on Career Launch so you can do your research before the fair.
  2. Networking - Employers like meeting students face to face.  This is your chance to shine!  It is sometimes hard to get an interview at the most desirable companies, but everyone gets a chance to chat with employers at a career fair.
  3. Attending CareerLINK is a great way to get in a professional frame of mind.  You will have the chance to dress professionally, introduce yourself to others, hear some of the questions employers and students are asking each other.  This can help give you insight into how to prepare for a formal interview.
  4. Talk to employers and find out if there are any classes you should be taking to prepare for a future in their industry.
  5. Even if you know where you will be working following graduation, it doesn't hurt to network with other companies and employers.  You never know when opportunity will come knocking.

University of Southern Indiana CareerLINK is held in the Screaming Eagles Arena (Map of Campus)
