Scholarship and Financial Aid Estimator

Provost Transfer Scholarship
This merit scholarship is designated for outstanding students transferring from a community college as of spring 2016 and forward.  

Value: $2,000 per academic year ($1,000 per term).

Number available: Varies. Offers may be limited based on availability of funding. For this reason, students are encouraged to apply early.

Application: No application is required. Eligible students will be identified based on their admission application credentials. Students must apply for admission by April 1 for students entering in the summer or fall semesters or by November 1 for students entering in the spring semesters.

Selection criteria: Eligible students must have a minimum of 42 transferable credit hours from a community college with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5.  Students that have attended a 4-year college/university, post high school graduation, are not eligible for this award.  All college credit earned post high school must be earned from a community college.   



Transfer Academic Scholarship

This merit scholarship is designated for strong students transferring from a community college as of spring, 2016 and forward.

Value: $1,000 per year per academic year ($500 per term).

Number available: Varies. Offers may be limited based on availability of funding. For this reason, students are encouraged to apply early.

Application: No application is required. Eligible students will be identified based on their admission application credentials. Students must apply for admission by April 1 for students entering in the summer or fall semesters or by November 1 for students entering in the spring semesters.

Selection criteria: Eligible students must have a minimum of 42 transferable credit hours from a community college with a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 to 3.49. Students that have attended a 4 year college/university, post high school graduation, are not eligible for this award.  All college credit earned post high school must be earned from a community college.  



Out-of-State Transfer Top Scholar Award
 

This scholarship is designated for outstanding transfer students residing outside the state of Indiana who initially matriculate to USI spring 2016 or beyond.  

Value: University provides awards which pay the difference between non-resident and resident tuition.  Current value is approximately $9,340 annually for students taking 30 credit hours per year.

Number available: Varies. Offers may be limited based on availability of funding. For this reason, students are encouraged to apply early.

Application: No application is required. Eligible students will be identified based on their admission application credentials. While there is no application deadline, students are encouraged to apply early for admission to USI.

Selection criteria: Non-resident transfer students must be admissible to USI and must have completed at least 24 transferable credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher.



Out-of-State Transfer Scholarship  

This scholarship is designated for strong transfer students residing outside the state of Indiana who initially matriculate to USI as of spring 2016 and beyond.

Value: The scholarship provides a net tuition payment equal to 120 percent of the Indiana resident tuition (current value is approximately $8,013 annually for students taking 30 credit hours per year).

Number available: Varies. Offers may be limited based on availability of funding. For this reason, students are encouraged to apply early.

Application: No application is required. Eligible students will be identified based on their admission application credentials. While there is no application deadline, students are encouraged to apply early for admission to USI.

Selection criteria: Non-resident transfer students must be admissible to USI and must have completed at least 24 transferable credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 to 3.24.



Continue the Tradition Award

The Continue the Tradition Program will be treated as a fee waiver for children or grandchildren of USI Alumni who are not residents of Indiana. The Admissions office will incorporate a series of questions on the enrollment application that will identify eligible students at the time of acceptance (no additional application).  The Admissions office will notify the student of eligibility via the acceptance letter.  Admissions office will create a new residency code to identify recipients in Banner and adjust fees to in-state rates.  

Selection criteria: Recipient must be biological or adopted child or grandchild of a USI graduate who holds a baccalaureate degree or higher credential.
