Academic Events

Academic events provide students and families additional opportunities to visit our campus. These are also great opportunities to meet other new students interested in similar academic programs, meet faculty members, and gain in depth knowledge regarding specific programs and applicable majors.  These events do not include class registration.

Exploring Majors Day

Exploring Majors Day is a great opportunity for students who have a major in mind as well as for students who are undecided or considering adding a minor to their academic plan. Faculty representing all academic programs across campus will be on hand to discuss opportunities at USI as well as future career options. Join us to research potential career options or dive deeper into a specific area of interest. The day will also incorporate admissions and scholarship information as well as campus and housing tours.

12-12:30 p.m.  Choosing a Major at USI
Learn about how to make an informed choice regarding an academic major and people and resources on campus designated to help students with this important decision. Information on admissions, scholarships and financial aid will also be provided.

12:30-1:30 p.m.  Exploring Majors and Minors Fair
Learn more about majors and minors related to your interests and meet with faculty in each area to better understand career paths and opportunities within each academic program at USI. Professional advisors will also be on hand to provide information about internships and studying abroad.

2:00 p.m.  Campus Tour

3:00 p.m.  Housing Tour (Optional)

SEE USI during our Science, Engineering, & Education (SEE) visit experience! The day incorporates hands-on experiences within our various science, engineering, and education programs as well as interaction with faculty and current students.

This year’s High School Business Day will feature both group and individual challenges and provide students the opportunity to compete for scholarships to the Romain College of Business, gain valuable experience, and network with faculty, USI students, and local business professionals. This day is open to all high school students who are interested in learning and having fun. Students may enter one or both challenges or simply enjoy the day.
