USI Public Safety maintains 24-hour, seven-day-a-week security coverage of the campus. Security duties include traffic control, security of physical assets, and safety of all employees, students, and guests of the campus. In addition, all security staff are trained in first aid and other emergency procedures.
Emergency phones are located around the campus in the blue cylindrical structures with a light on top. Merely pressing the button will connect to the emergency number.

USI Rave Alert gives immediate notification - via email, text message, and voice message - about emergencies, severe weather, and other incidents impacting the University community. Everyone with a USI email address is automatically enrolled in the Rave Alert email system, but must register mobile phone number(s) to receive text and voice alerts.
*Parents and family members can be added to a student’s Rave Alert notifications, but students must do this.
The USI Security Escort Program is designed to enhance safety and provide peace of mind for students who must be on campus after dark. Security Escorts are officers of USI Public Safety and are available from dusk to dawn 365 days a year.
