Scheduling Your Test

After signing up for an orientation session, students can take the placement tests in a variety of ways:

  • Visit the Academic Skills office, ED 1111, on the USI campus on Mondays through Fridays between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Central time) with no appointment necessary.
  • Visit the USI campus during a special testing session on certain Saturdays.
2018 Special Testing Sessions
Date Time
Saturday, March 17 9:00 a.m. (CDT)
Saturday, April 14 9:00 a.m. (CDT)

  • Arrange for testing at a site in the student's community.
    1. Find someone to proctor the test, such as someone at a local high school, college, library, or testing center (which might charge a fee). Here is a list of some established remote testing sites in Indiana.
    2. Have the proctor send an email to with the student's name and the day and time of the test.
    3. Both the student and proctor will receive an email with the test information.
  • Take the test at home using the Virtual Testing Proctor (BVirtual). This option requires the student to use a webcam and pay a $25 fee to BVirtual. The student will receive an email from Academic Skills that includes a voucher number and the link to BVirtual.

Students should complete their placement tests at least one week before their scheduled Orientation day.
