Collateral Damage: A Triptych

RopeWalk Press is pleased to present the winner of the RopeWalk Press Editor’s Fiction Chapbook Prize, Soma Mei Sheng Frazier’s Collateral Damage: A Triptych.

Soma Mei Sheng Frazier’s work has been singled out by Robert Olen Butler and Nikki Giovanni; placed in competitions offered by Zoetrope, Glimmer Train, Mississippi Review and many others. Her poetry has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and one of her award-winning short fiction pieces was named a Notable Story of 2009 by the storySouth Million Writers Award authors. That story can be found online, at Carve Magazine – and a recent web essay is also available at Glimmer Train (Online Bulletin 72). An East Coast native, Soma now lives in the Bay Area and works at KQED.

RopeWalk Press will also be publishing the runner-up manuscript, Kirsten Clodfelter’s Casualties.


Kirsten Clodfelter



Kirsten Clodfelter holds an MFA in Creative Writing from George Mason University.  
Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in The Iowa Review, Brevity, and Narrative Magazine, among others. Winner of a Dan Rudy prize, her work has also been awarded
an honorable mention from Glimmer Train and 2nd place in Narrative Magazine's 30 Below contest. She writes and teaches in Southern Indiana, where she lives with her incredible partner and their amazing, hilarious daughter.
