SHRM Essentials of Human Resource Management

This is an introductory course in human resource management. Essentials of Human Resource Management will provide participants with broad overview of the human resource function. Key topic areas include: Essentials of HR Management, Employment Law in Your Workplace, Elective Recruiting and Selection Techniques, Basic Compensation, Orienting and Training Your Employees, and Ensuring Quality Performance. This class is officially sanctioned by the Society for Human Resource Management. Upon completion of this non credit course you will receive a Certificate from the Society for Human Resource Management.  

This is an excellent course for professionals who are:

  • Early in their HR careers
  • Manage HR professionals but do not know the field
  • Responsible for parts of HR in addition to other non-HR duties
  • Want to break in to the competitive and growing HR profession
  • Desire to update their current HR knowledge
  • Seek career advancement 

This class includes a book, access to a website with additional resources, and a certificate of completion from USI and SHRM. Fee includes lunch and light snack.
