Wright named 2017 Distinguished Accountant by Romain College of Business

Marvin Wright, chief financial officer and senior portfolio manager of Donaldson Capital Management, has been named the 2017 Distinguished Accountant by the University of Southern Indiana's Romain College of Business in conjunction with the USI Accounting Circle. The award recognizes professional achievement, service to the region and the University and service to the accounting profession.

Wright has served on a number of nonprofit boards and held roles of chairman, president, and treasurer. These organizations include USI Accounting Circle, USI Board of Advisors, Evansville ARC, Evansville Small Business Center, Growth Alliance of Greater Evansville, United Way of Southwestern Indiana, Leadership Evansville, Vanderburgh County CASA, Evansville Kennel Club, Messiah Lutheran Church, and Immanuel Lutheran Church. Wright holds numerous professional designations. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of CPAs, the Indiana CPA Society, the Kentucky Society of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Evansville Estate Planning Council.

After earning his bachelor's degree in accounting, Wright worked with a national firm in Louisville and then became partner in a local Evansville firm before founding Wright Consultants, LLC. After 24 years of operating the accounting and financial services firm, Wright Consultants was merged into Kemper CPA Group, LLP in 2007, which is when he also joined Kemper Capital Management, LLC. Wright has taught accounting and continuing education courses at the University of Southern Indiana and made numerous presentations to CPAs and small business owners.
