New Harmony Gallery collaborates with Tin Man Brewery for new exhibit

December 5, 2016

The New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art has collaborated with Tin Man Brewery of Evansville to present the last exhibition of the 2016 calendar year. "Robot Invasion" is free and open to the public until December 17th.

"I invited Tin Man to take part in one of our events during 2015. This event brought about a conversation with Fred Hillenbrand of Tin Man about creating an exhibition with a robot theme," said Garry Holstein, director of the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art. "These popular culture shows are meant to provide opportunities for regional artists, as well as connect the gallery to a new group of patrons."

The show features robots, Tin Man's icon, in a variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture and video. The exhibition showcases a wide range of student and professional artists, including several USI students and alumni. Featured artists include:

Kelsey Allison and Clay Allison, Kyle Darnell, Davis and Davis, Tylar Dean, Megan Elleser, Melissa Erwin, Whitney Goller, Tara Tierney-Goodson, Randall Griggs, Blythe Noble Hager and Bradley Keen, Mr. Hooper, Lauren Koch, Heather Landry, Noah Laroia-Nguyen, Ryan McKain, Rob Millard-Mendez, Christina Robinson, Kate Ryder, Brian Simpson, Scott Streets, Travis Streutker, Paul Wiersbinski, and Christopher Wilke.

Tin Man will be selling a selection of their offerings at the closing reception for the exhibition. Complimentary food and beverages also will be available for all ages during the reception. The closing reception will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on December 17th at the Gallery.

This exhibit is made possible with support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
