The University of Southern Indiana has named Amy Price as director of Housing and Residence Life. She began her duties as director on May 1.

As director, Price serves as the chief housing officer managing a comprehensive campus housing and residential life operation and collaborating with campus service organizations to provide 3,000 residents business operations, administrative services, housekeeping, maintenance, human resources, marketing, social media and public relations, and information technology. She will oversee more than 100 full-time, part-time and student employees; 43 apartment buildings; and four residence halls.

"Amy is a seasoned housing and residence life professional and was selected through a national search process," said Dr. Marcia Kiessling, associate provost for Student Affairs. "Her background, knowledge, and passion for serving students will be assets in her new role as director of Housing and Residence Life."

Prior to being named director, Price served as interim director and as associate director of Housing and Residence Life since 2007, and as special assistant to the provost during the 2014-2015 academic year.  She previously served as an associate resident director, resident director, complex director and area director for Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.

"I am very excited to continue my professional career at USI and lead Housing and Residence Life in this new role as we help students live, learn and grow," said Price. "I am eager to continue developing partnerships and strengthening collaborations throughout campus and in the community."

Price holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Western Illinois University and a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Eastern Illinois University.
