The University of Southern Indiana's Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program Speaker Series will host Horace (Harry) M. Lukens III at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, in Kleymeyer Hall in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public. The talk will be titled "Reflections of working on the White House Advance Team."

Lukens is a former military and airline pilot who served at the White House in the Office of Presidential Advance under President Ford.

He is the third generation in his family to serve the Evansville community in the insurance business. Now in semi-retirement, he continues his insurance career as a consultant with the Torian, Hofmann and Dillow Agency. This is his 58th year in the insurance business in Evansville.

Lukens taught Entrepreneurial Finance and Principles of Risk Management and Insurance as an adjunct instructor in USI's Romain College of Business. He currently serves as a consultant to the dean.

He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Evansville for 56 years and his grandfather was a charter member of the club in 1914.

Lukens is a graduate of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, where he earned a bachelor's degree in insurance and economics, and a master's degree in business administration.
