Faculty art exhibit celebrates USI's 50th anniversary

"Solid Gold: The Art Department Goes on Record," a University of Southern Indiana faculty art exhibition celebrating the University's 50th anniversary, will be on display January 15 through March 16 in the Kenneth P. McCutchan Art Center/Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries on the USI campus.

The show features a wide variety of artworks in media ranging from wood, clay, oil paint and steel to digital imagery and 3D animation. This marks only the second time USI Art faculty members have exhibited their creative works on the USI campus.

The public will be able to meet the faculty artists during a free public reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 15, at the McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries, which is located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center. Light refreshments will be served.

The 20 exhibiting full-time and adjunct art professors are:  Michael Aakhus, Brett Anderson, Erika Anderson, Chuck Armstrong, Deborah Ball, Corliss Chastain, Ella Combs-Larmann, Joan deJong, Henri Helsloot, Andrea Hoelscher, Alisa Holen, Xinran Hu, David Huebner, Rob Millard-Mendez, Nancy Raen-Mendez, Erich Shelton, Joseph Uduehi, Jane Case Vickers, Kathryn Waters and Kristen Wilkins. 

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and the gallery is open to the public. For more information, call 812-228-5006.
