Holiday World is laboratory for USI's girls-only summer camp

The University of Southern Indiana's GO STEM! Summer Camp helps high school girls overcome barriers and stereotypes faced while preparing for and pursuing STEM-related careers through a four-day summer camp June 2-6. Applicants must be entering ninth- through 12th-grade in fall 2013. Campers will live in university housing and work with female college students and faculty in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines. Holiday World & Splashin' Safari amusement park in Santa Claus, Indiana, will be used as a laboratory for experiments and activities in chemistry and nutrition, mathematics, biology, and engineering/applied physics. Cost is $125 including lodging, all meals, field trip costs, and supplemental learning materials. Registration information is available at www.swistem.org. The application deadline is April 30.
