A four-member team of accounting students from the University of Southern Indiana’s College of Business brought home a third-place finish in the annual Indiana CPA (INCPAS) Case Study Competition over the weekend. The competition challenged students with a project related to a business acquisition analysis.
Team members included senior accounting majors Matthew D. Cooper, Ryan Eichmiller, Dustin McGrew, and Nicole Smith. The team was one of six finalists to compete in Indianapolis on Friday, where they made an oral presentation in front of a panel of judges. Accounting instructors Jeanette Maier-Lytle and Jamie Seitz served as advisors for the team.
“I’m always amazed by the intense drive of our students during this competition,” said Maier-Lytle. “Our team spent countless hours preparing for this competition. They excelled in the 10-minute question and answer session following their 20-minute presentation in Indianapolis.”
