The University of Southern Indiana's Residence Life Community Center addition received a Silver Award in the Institutional category in the Association of Licensed Architects (ALA) 14th annual Design Award Competition. Three I Design was the project's designer.
The ALA recognized projects in six states for design and construction achievement. A total of 32 presidential, gold, silver, and merit awards were presented in categories that included: commercial, institutional, residential, renovation, religous and interior.
"This year's award-winning firms showed superior site planning and exceptional attention to detail," said Joanne Sullivan, ALA executive director. "The institutional and commercial buildings inparticular showcased some beautifully simple, yet functional designs."
ALA is a national organization of architects and related professionals with a membership of nearly 1,500. Its mission is to advance the architectural profession by supporting and improving its role in the built environment through contributions to the general health, safety, and welfare of the general public.
