The University of Southern Indiana’s International Programs and Services will kick off its 2012 National International Education Week celebration with an International Reception and Fashion Show in honor of international faculty and students at 3:30 p.m. Monday, November 12, in the McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries, located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center.
The event will feature international USI students in national costumes and is cosponsored by the Center for Academic Creativity. Light refreshments will be provided.
On Tuesday, November 13, and Thursday, November 15, Global Engagement Forums will feature presentations by students who have received Global Engagement Scholarships to study or participate in internships abroad.
Part I will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in UC East Room 2217 and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Rice Library Room 17. Representatives from Cross Culture Solutions and ISA will be available to meet with Students about 2013 internships. Part II will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in University Center East Room 2217.
Also on Thursday, there will be an International Friendship Workshop at 5 p.m. in the Recreation, Wellness, and Fitness Center, Room 206. Cosponsored by the Counseling Center, the workshop will address the challenges of making friends from other cultures. The event is open to all USI students. Light refreshments will be served.
Finally, an International Extravaganza will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, November 16, in Carter Hall. A Latin Fiesta with Latin music and dance by Calle Sur will be cosponsored by Activities Programming Board, Student Development, and the Provost’s Office. Light refreshments will be served.
