USI Theatre and New Harmony Theatre’s Repertory Project announces its fall season

Death of a Salesman, by Arthur Miller, will play in rotation with Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker in the University of Southern Indiana’s fall 2012 Repertory Project. Death of a Salesman, directed by Elliot Wasserman, professor of theatre and chair of the Performing Arts Department, will play at 7:30 p.m. October 23, 25, 26, 31, and November 3, and at 2 p.m. November 4. The Matchmaker, directed by Eric Altheide, assistant professor of theatre, will play at 7:30 p.m. October 24, 27, 30, and November 1-2, and at 2 p.m. October 27. Both productions will be staged in the Mallette Studio Theatre in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center.

Actors’ Equity Association members Buzz Roddy and Wendy Welch appear as Willy and Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman, and as Horace Vandergelder and Mrs. Levi in The Matchmaker. Making an appearance, as well as choreographing the fight scene, in Death of a Salesman with permission of Actors’ Equity Association is USI’s faculty member, Eric Altheide.

The cast for Death of a Salesman also includes Lydia Abell, Anachebe Asomugha, Geoff Bach, Scott Cummings, Shawnte Gaston ,Andrea Hemmer, Antonio King, Craig Patterson, Danielle Scott,and Logan Vickers.

The cast for The Matchmaker includes Luke Bockelman, Hope Boeringa, Jared Collins, Brandis DeWilligen, Emily Durchholz, Preston Edge, Leigh Grimes, Daniel Harris, Kevin Hawkins, Alexander Hellenberg, Michael Kay, Patrick Litteken, Jacob Murphey, Presley Roy, Stephanie Sauerheber, and Samuel Wentzel.

The artistic team for both productions is Liz Reddick, stage manager and a member of the Actors’ Equity Association; Nathaniel Sinnott, assistant professor of theatre, as scenic designer; Shan Jensen, associate professor of theatre, as costume designer; as well as Eric Cope, assistant professor of theatre, as lighting designer of Death of a Salesman. USI students include Lakysha Williams, who is lighting designer of The Matchmaker; and Erik McCandless and Brittany Hayth as sound designers for both productions. Community members assisting with the production of The Matchmaker are Amelia Dalto as choreographer and Patrick Ritsch as both the music director and a member of the Barbershop Quartet.

Tickets are $12 for USI students, $18 for adults, and $16 for seniors (ages 60-plus) and non-USI students. Discounts are available for tickets purchased for both shows in the same transaction.
