Active Directory - A database on our network that maintains information about all our users (students, employees and alumni) and computers. This database is central to our login processes, network shares groups/distribution lists.

CAS (pronounced cazz) - our preferred method of Single Sign On (SSO) used by the MyUSI portal to connect with other software systems.

Forefront Identity Manager - also known as FIM. This is an identity management software product designed to manage digital identities. USI uses this product to keep passwords from multiple systems in-sync. We also use FIM to automatically generate email accounts when new students/employees are added to the Banner system.

INB- Internet Native Banner
Kace - IT’s Help Desk ticket system. Sending an email to email@example.com will automatically create a ticket in the Kace system. (Rick Buery)
KeyStone - PP Key Management System (Frank Nagy)
Managed Desktop - A managed desktop saves all files to the Home (H:) drive of the user who is logged into that machine. Managed desktops are 'locked down' to prevent the end-user from downloading malicious software.
