Conditional direct admission applies only to students who are first-time degree seeking students and who are applying within the first calendar year of high school graduation. Application for conditional direct admission must be received by July 1. For example, if you graduated from high school May or June 2016, you have until July 1, 2017 to apply for conditional direct admission with nursing classes beginning spring semester 2018. If you graduate from high school May or June 2017, you have until July 1, 2018 to apply for conditional direct admission with nursing classes beginning spring semester 2019.

Accepted conditional direct admission students must maintain eligibility by earning a college GPA of 3.3+ on a 4.0 scale, by completing the first year prerequisite courses* prior to August 1 after their first year of college, and by completing all prerequisite second year courses according to the curriculum.

Science Eligibility rule: Any student who receives more than one 'D' or 'F' in any of the required science or nutrition courses prior to beginning the professional nursing courses is ineligible for the nursing program at USI.
Anatomy and physiology and chemistry course credit must be earned or equivalent competence demonstrated within five years of enrollment in clinical nursing courses.
