The USI Foundation is excited to establish the first-ever USI Foundation Student Advisory Board. This group of students will bring awareness of the USI Foundation to the entire student body, facilitate networking opportunities for students with USI friends and alumni, and establish an annual campaign for student giving.
The USI Foundation Student Advisory Board will consist of 12 students – two undergraduate students from each college, two ‘members at large’ from any college, and two graduate students. Applicants must be an incoming sophomore or junior for the 2018/2019 academic year, and able to serve two consecutive years.
This is the first group of its kind at USI– therefore, students will have the unique opportunity to establish specific objectives and create a marketing plan. The USI Foundation Student Advisory Board will create a culture of philanthropy on campus and involve students in the positive impact of charitable gifts to USI.
The USI Foundation attracts, acquires, and manages donors’ charitable gifts to support and sustain the goals of the University of Southern Indiana. Gifts received through the USI Foundation provide undergraduate and graduate student scholarships, college and departmental support and enhance the campus.
Applications are due by Friday, April 6. Please complete the application and include a 300-500 word essay explaining how you will be an asset to the USI Foundation Student Advisory Board. In addition, a letter of recommendation from a USI dean, faculty, or staff member should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. Qualified candidates will be interviewed by a panel and appointed to positions July 1, 2018.
