We know that enrollment at a major university, such as USI, can present a number of academic and personal challenges at a time when many students are learning who they are and who they want to be. We also know that life is filled with challenges, and that it is normal for people to experience high levels of distress at challenging times. The Counseling Center is here to help!
People seek our assistance for a variety of reasons. Whether a student is having difficulties adjusting to college life, struggling with depression, questioning his or her identity, experiencing difficulties with body-image, or coping with the loss of a loved one, we are here to provide support, guidance, and a fresh perspective. Our services are designed to help students develop the skills necessary to overcome their problems, make effective decisions, and develop the tools that will allow them to maximize their experiences at the University of Southern Indiana. We are committed to helping students fulfill their hopes, dreams, and potentials in their journey of life-long learning.
The Counseling Center is committed to making the University of Southern Indiana a happy and healthy place for all of our students. You will often find us delivering presentations on mental health, bringing exciting and dynamic speakers to campus, moderating student panels, and coordinating various awareness campaigns. If you are interested in having one of our counselors speak to your organization or campus group, go to our Request a Presentation page.
Please take a minute to look through our website and learn more about us, our services, and all of the exciting events the Counseling Center is hosting. Of special note, is our Online Resources (Self-help) page. Here you will find links to trusted resources and partners; links to depression, alcohol , and other screening tools; and coming soon, a USI Counseling Center you-tube channel featuring some of our outreach presentations and various self-help videos.
